So I've been reading a few articles and comments about Martin Juza getting disqualified at GP Singapore, and most of them mainly say that I'm a dumbass and it was my mistake and blaa blaa blaa. It's important to note that most of the people talking weren't even there, so, naturally, it's easy to take sides when the information is vague. Thankfully, nobody reads this blog so I probably won't receive a bunch of "intellectual retaliations" but for my own sake, I'm gonna write about what happened in more detail.
It was round 10, with both of us sitting at 8-1 and it was game 3.
We were playing normally and at the end of my draw step, he plays a Vendilion Clique. This is where all the drama starts. Vendilion hits play and I thought for a while and proceeded to path to exile it. He removes it from the game and searches up a basic land to put into play. I then proceeded to reveal my hand by putting it on the table. He looked at my hand, writes its contents down, looks at his hand, thinks for over 1 minute, and proceeded to tell me that he targets himself with the Vendilion. (This is my exact explaination to the judge and Juza himself said that that was exactly what happened) Needless to say, this was the point that I called a judge.
I explained to the judge that I understand that it is my fault for revealing my hand without a target being declared, but I also said that, it was one of those "understood" gestures. He did cast Vendilion against me in the previous game, and it in fact happened the same way, and in no way did he say that I did not declare a target yet and such, because we both understood that he was targeting me.
I went to Singapore with a "have fun" mindset. I wasn't feeling very competitive and I was just happy to make day 2. If he had just looked at my hand, quickly remembered the content and told me that he was targeting himself right then, I would have just said that I'm a dumbass, picked up my cards and just continue, but when, first of all, you cast it at the end of my draw step, then act like you're considering which card to put at the bottom (or not to put) by looking at it over a minute and looking at your hand to help you decide and THEN proceeds to tell me you're targeting yourself, I'm definitely calling a judge.
I told the judge that I'd understand if it was a misunderstanding, but give the circumstances of how it happened, it is hard not to question the intent of that play.
Attempting to cheat is a serious offence, which is why the judges were trying to figure out whether he really did want to target himself, or was he just taking advantage of the situation after realizing that he does not want to put any of my cards down and had something he wouldn't mind putting down to get another card instead.
I did not come up with the ruling, and to be honest, I myself was surprised with the ruling, but, reread the circumstances above, think about it, and consider the intent, as in, what did he originally plan to do. If you still believe that he did want to target himself after all, then I guess the judge messed up. Unfortunately, I believe otherwise.
On a lighter note, after 10-4 performance and my 4-1 performance at the grinders the day before, I am currently the number 1 ranked composite and total player in Malaysia! :-)
It was quite sad to have been at 10-1, needing just one more win out of the last 3 rounds and losing all 3, but oh well, I guess I can't complain, I did better than I expected (although, not having a crappy tiebreaker to push me to number 17 and robbing me out of USD$100 would have been nice, but oh well, not everyday is Sunday... )
Although I finished Top 32 like in Manila, since they lowered the prize payout, I only got USD$400 instead of the last year's payout of USD$500, but.oh.well.
Will be quite sometime before the cheque arrives though *sigh*
Take care and have a nice day.

My Summer
So I made a list of things I wanna do during my summer holidays in one of the previous posts, and now my holidays are almost over, classes starts early March :-(
Let's go through the list and see which of the things I actually did manage to do
1) Get a job (likeliness = low)
I didn't really expect to get one, as I really didn't make much effort to try finding one, but I guess I was just lucky that the opportunity came my way
2) Join a gym (likeliness = moderate)
I didn't end up joining a gym after all... but it's mostly because I told myself I'll just go the the gym at the club, which I didn't do very much either... I really wanted to go through with this, but I know 1 person who is probably more upset about this than me... *rolls eyes*
3) Work on my music (likeliness = moderate)
Nothing at all other than writing a few rhymes... bah...
4) Watch all the TV shows I've been meaning to watch (likeliness = low)
Went to Penang for the PTQ and I spent like almost RM200 just on DVDs of TV shows that I thought I'd never watch, but turns out that I did manage to watch lots of it :-p
5) Play Magic (likeliness = very high)
LOL, not even gonna answer this one
6) Catch up with friends (likeliness = high)
Not too bad I guess, met up with quite alot of people
7) Start the scratching class (likeliness = low)
Didn't do this either, quite a shame :-(
8) Go on a holiday (likeliness = confirmed)
Like I said earlier itself, confirmed! Went to Beijing, it was quite alright, shopping was good too
9) Drive up to Penang with friends for PTQ (likeliness = high)
Did this! Was quite an awesome trip too, had great food(duh), awesome seafood dinner that one night, and I even Top 8 the PTQ! Didn't win though, lost at Quarters in less than 5 minutes... My brother went to Semis though.
10) Go on a trip with Kel (likeliness = moderate)
Didn't do this one, understandably so, it's quite difficult to plan, given the circumstances, plus she's like flying off somewhere every other week! She just went to Bangkok, and tomorrow she's flying to Vietnam, busy lady that girl :-p
11) Perform (likeliness = low)
No events to perform at, it is the holidays after all
12) Be exposed to sunlight (likeliness = unknown)
Plenty of sunlight these days, going to work and all. It's quite awesome too, directly behind where I sit is a glass window and I have an awesome view, with KLCC being visible and all.
7 out of 12, haha, actually more than I expected :-p
All in all, I really had a great summer holiday and am naturally dreading going back to college...
I know lots of people will be flying back to to Australia or whatever soon, so I hope I get to see most of them before they fly back.
I'm actually thinking of going there for holidays sometime this year, since theres gonna be a Grand Prix there and all. Really hope that works out!
Alright, back to work... :-(
Take care and have a nice day!

Icky the Intern
And so I started working, Interning actually. Started in January, in this Islamic Bank called Kuwait Finance House. Funny thing, I actually was just up for any job cos I was bored and my lifestyle was quite rubbish (sleep at random hours for random period of times and eating random food at random hours), so I figured that a job would help get me diciplined for when college starts. Anyways, so Jeff was already interning here and I asked him if I could too and so I had to write a resume, send it in and everything and I got the job. I started work on the first day still not knowing what company it was, I only figured out that it was actually a bank when some of them were thinking of how to get more customers and let people know that Kuwait Finance House is a bank. At that point I was like "aaaahhhhh!"
I told myself I'll never be one of those dudes to work in KL and drive back and forth through the jam everyday and here I am, hahaha. It's not that bad though, music helps the drive alot. Also, I'm sleeping at a more consistant time now. Lacking alot of sleep, but consistantly :-p
It's been making me think though, about how it's gonna be if I end up having an office job like this for after I graduate. Let's see
Work starts at 8.30am, it takes about an hour to get to work, meaning I have to leave the house by 7.30am.
Allocating about 30 minutes to get ready, I have to start preparing at 7.00. It is idealistic to think that if I set my alarm at 7am, I will wake up at 7am, so as it is now, I set my alarm at 6.40am, allowing me 2-3 trips to the snooze button
Work is from 8.30am to 5.30pm, that is 9 hours (including lunch break) spent being at work.
After work is the drive back home which is also about 1 hour, meaning that if leave work at 5.30pm, I will reach home by 6.30pm. Sometimes when it rains or is the last day before a long weekend (like before CNY holidays) its a little more jammed, therefore I will reach home at 7pm.
Upon reaching home, stretching out chilling and showering would take about an hour, making it 8pm.
Then theres dinner, which I will also allocate about an hour, so that brings us to 9pm.
I don't know what is the universally accepted average hours of sleeping, but in my books, a good sleep is at least 7 hours (8 hours is ideal)
Having to wake up at 6.40am, that would mean that I should be in bed by 11.40pm
Which means, after dinner at about 9pm, that would give me approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to do whatever I want. whoa...
So lets say I see a friend for dinner, maybe from like 8pm, I can chill for about 3 hours and 40 minutes (of course, this is the ideal way). Take into consideration that there are other things that I wanna do like watch TV shows, go online, talk on the phone and etc, that would leave me with not much time at all. So I've been pushing back my sleeping time, sleeping at about 2am, giving me about 4 hours + of sleep everyday.
This fatigue obviously piles on and sometimes I find myself accidentaly dozing off during work (not while driving, don't worry) and this cycle repeats itself until the weekends, where I cash in all the "lack of sleep" coupons and try to get well rested. This of course is not always the case as there's always something to do during the weekends.
I'm gonna stop with all the time calculations because I am boring myself (and making me feel sad at the same time) so I think it will suffice to say that working like this takes up all your time.
After a while I'm sure I'll get hit with the reality of all the things that I've been missing or miss doing, be it going to the movies (which I used to take for granted) or meeting up with friends.
This is kind of how people lose touch I think, not specifically through work, but more through being occupied with so many different things that need more priority. I can't even imagine how much more complicated the time equation will become when you start a family!
I don't really like the direction this kind of job will take me, maybe it's just not for me, or maybe it's one of those things I'll start doing for a bit, telling myself its only for a bit, and wake up from the daily routines 5 years later and wonder, "where did all the time go?"...
Depressing? You bet! All the more reason to work hard for a job that you'll love though! I guess it's good that I took this job, it helps in figuring out what kind of life do I want 10 years from now.
I hate growing up :-(
Take care and have a nice day.

Sober MTGOholic
"Hello, my name is Icky, I'm a MTGOholic, I've been 1 week sober..."
I've been wondering since the 24th on why I haven't been able to connect to magic online and why the connection has been completely terrible since then, and I just found out why...
TMnet has announced that there will be service interruption from 20th December to 31st December.
"Dear Valued Customers,
Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuits fault on Southeast Asia - Middle East - Western Europe 4 (SMW4) submarine cable network between Palermo (Southern Italy) and Alexandria (Northern Egypt) linking Malaysia to Europe. Due to this, customers using Internet services may now experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in Europe."
It's been so annoying but I have to say, it has been getting me out of the house, so that's something good.
Niki just got back from UK, I picked him up from the airport, he decided to surprise his family again so he didn't tell them he was coming back.
Also, Senthil just got back from Indonesia as well, he seems well.
I also recently submitted my resume (which I had to make for the first time ever) for an interm position I'm trying to get. If all goes well I should start in January and that would be the end of me bumming around at home. Hope I get it!
Overall it's been a pretty good month (other than my losing streak) and Christmas was fun, let's hope that New Year's Eve will be good too!
Although, I still can't wait for this whole Streamyx thing to be okay again... :-/
Take care and have a nice day! :-)

Street Lights
Let me know
Do I still got time to grow
Things ain't always set in stone
That be known let me know
Let me
Seems like
Street lights
Glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing
In front of me
So I hopped in the cab and
I paid my fare
See, I know my destination
But I'm just not there
All the street lights
Glowing
Happen to be just like moments
Passing
In front of me
So I hopped in the cab and
I paid my fare
See, I know my destination
But I'm just not there
In the streets
In the streets
I'm just not there
In the streets
I'm just not there
Life's just not fair...

Icky Is Old
Well, my papers was a bitch. I guess that's what you get for studying last minute... haha.
But, it's over! :-) Free till February, can u imagine that? I think our holidays are waaaay too long, but I'm not complaining :-p
Finished my last paper on 5th November, 1 day before my birthday, sounds like awesome timing? Not so much. My last paper was so depressing. But.Oh.Well. At least it's over! And I'm old now. 22 years old. Damn.
Anyways, so I've been thinking of what I should do during this holidays. Obviously I'll need a list of plans that I will regret not doing by the time the next semester starts, it's just tradition! haha.
Let's see:-
1) Get a job (likeliness = low)
2) Join a gym (likeliness = moderate)
3) Work on my music (likeliness = moderate)
4) Watch all the TV shows I've been meaning to watch (likeliness = low)
5) Play Magic (likeliness = very high)
6) Catch up with friends (likeliness = high)
7) Start the scratching class (likeliness = low)
8) Go on a holiday (likeliness = confirmed)
9) Drive up to Penang with friends for PTQ (likeliness = high)
10) Go on a trip with Kel (likeliness = moderate)
11) Perform (likeliness = low)
12) Be exposed to sunlight (likeliness = unknown)
Can't think of anything else, hmmm...
Anyways, things are pretty good right now and I hope it stays that way! I know I've been quite a loner for a while now and it's 10000% my fault, but I plan to change that cos I don't think this lifestyle is very good for me, haha
I was just thinking of what Zac said the other day, "Icky, I won't let you turn into an MTGO (Magic the Gathering Online) geek, you're too cool for that!" haha, well, he's right, and I plan to be more productive!
Let's see if it works out :-p
Btw, my money from the check is still not banked yet. You know how long it takes to clear the cheque? 1 month. No kidding. Something about having to clarify with the Australian bank and convert the US$ or whatever... boo hoo, it takes 2 seconds to call, seriously. Oh well.
Take care and have a nice day :-)

Oh well, current goal right now? Pass my exams... hahaha
Take care and have a nice day!

Kau Pijak Hatiku Lagi
Waktu kita sama sambut hari lahir
Ku berikan dia hadiah bunga
Cantik, engkau memang cantik
Izinkan aku menatap wajahmu lagi
Cantik, engkau memang cantik
Izinkan aku menatap wajahmu lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Tinggi harapanku buatmu
Tak ku sangka ia hanya setengah jalan
Jika memori kita disimpan di dalam cakera
Kan ku mainkan sampai bila-bila
Cantik, engkau memang cantik
Izinkan aku menatap wajahmu lagi
Cantik, engkau memang cantik
Izinkan aku menatap wajahmu lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku lagi
Pijak hatiku lagi
Pijak hatiku lagi
Kau pijak hatiku
Pijak hatiku lagi

Empty Decorations
Just read her blog. Once again I feel like I'm at her mercy and disposal. I don't feel like I deserve to be in this position once again.
When I first found out and asked her to just please end it, somehow I was the one who had to try harder with my gestures.
When I couldn't forgive her for what she did because it was just too difficult, I don't know how I ended up being the guy asking for forgiveness.
Once again I don't know how I ended up being in this position. Somehow, this time, she's the one finding it hard, for what? To be with me. Now it's a phase. I stood by through it all, through everything, but still I'm being put right here in this position, where I do not want to be.
You may wonder why I put up through all of it, and my answer is simple, that's what love does to you, but I do not know where this love of mine will take me. I fought for what I believed, for the feelings I feel so deeply, so it cuts me deep to be losing to her "growing up".
Perhaps my luck's run out. Maybe she's grown up and realized that I'm nothing special and she could do better then me. What do I have anyways? Just an overweight card game addict with 4 papers waiting to be failed.
She said she's gonna try, and I'm gonna wait and see...

Lagu Untukmu
Tiada bintang
Dapat menerangkan hati yang telah dicelah
Bagaiku lumpuh tak mampu berdiri
Aku tetap begini
Takkan berubah kerna aku tetap aku
Dan lalu rindumu bukanlah aku
Guna hati, akal dan fikiranmu
Berbeza
Kau dan juga aku
Dua hati yang tak mungkin bersatu
Apakah aku
Hanya boneka yang sering engkau mainkan
Yang dikawal oleh jari-jarimu
Ku punya hati dan perasaan
Pernahkah engkau fikirkan
Cukup cukuplah oh cukuplah
Guna hati, akal dan fikiranmu
Berbeza
Kau dan juga aku
Dua hati yang tak mungkin bersatu
Tak faham tak tahan
Sabarku tak tertahan
Melayan sikapmu perawan
Berbeza-berbeza
Kau dan aku berbeza
Kita memang tak serupa
Bebaskan bebaskan
Ku ingin dilepaskan
Kita tidak sehaluan
Cukuplah sudahlah
Sampai di sini saja
Hubungan kita berdua
Guna hati, akal dan fikiranmu
Berbeza
Kau dan juga aku
Dua hati yang tak mungkin bersatu

KAMI
And I loved it!
I'm not gonna go on and write a short summary, but, if you've got the time and chance, go check it out! I'm happy to see that our movies are getting better and so is our music industry :-)
Politics, Racism and all that bullshit aside, I love this country!
My hari raya has been pretty good as well, I'm having a good time (and alot of good food!)
Although I'm a little late, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to everyone! To everyone who I've done something wrong to, or who hates me (namely everyone on my previous list...), please forgive me... sempena Aidilfitri ini, ku pohon maaf zahir dan batin.
Take care and have a nice day.

And Tomorrow
And Tomorrow
Today is filled with anger
Fueled with hidden hate
Scared of being outcast
Afraid of common fate
Today is built on tragedies
Which no one wants to face
Nightmares to humanities
And morally disgraced
Tonight is filled with rage
Violence in the air
Children bred with ruthlessness
Because no one at home cares
Tonight I lay my head down
But the pressure never stops
Gnawing at my sanity
Content when I am dropped
But tomorrow I see change
A chance to build anew
Built on spirit, intent of heart
And ideals based on truth
And tomorrow I wake with second wind
And strong because of pride
To know I fought with all my heart
To keep my dreams alive
-Tupac Amaru Shakur-
That's one of his poems fom The Rose That Grew From Concrete, lots of good ones in there but this is one of my favourites.
I just realized today that he died 12 days, 12 years ago. Makes me wonder sometimes what would happen if he was still around. Would he still be successful? It's a whole lot of pressure coming out with good new material all the time, not to mention people's taste keep on changing. But then again, if he's still around, Kanye would probably be producing some of his songs! Hip Hop just evolves that way, haha.
Whatever it is, he's part of the reason why lyrics is very important to me, and with the love I have for poetry right now, I must say, I've been inspired.
Take care and have a nice day.

People Who Hate Me
And so I still dunno who hijacked my Facebook... oh well, whatever, I got a new one.
It was hell adding all my friends and re-tagging all the photos, but it's all over now thankfully.
This whole thing got me thinking though... who the hell hates me so much?
Lemme see if I can try and list down everyone who would potentially hate me:-
My ex-gf's ex-bf - He hates me alot cos she cheated on him with me
The dude who conned me (see my first post) - He shouldn't hate me too much, it's his fault
The other party members from the elections - Don't really think they hate me, it's just elections
Sha - Not sure what happened but I just wanted what's best for her... Shit happens I guess
Liz - Another misunderstanding. If only she was nice to me about the trip...
Sha's bf - This dude probably hates me alot, I'm sure he means well, just don't refuse to take care of your gf and tell her she's embarassing you when she's drunk and puking all over, that's really the only problem I have with you man.
Lasha - Was my useless group member from college who didn't do anything, so I was quite mean to him... Don't think he even cares about it anymore.
Last year's ball committee - I complained about last year's ball in front of the cafeteria. It's their own fault though, stupid timing and bad organization
My ex-gf - I sorta shared my opinion about her with other people, she didn't like that very much
HMV in Shibuya, Tokyo - We had a little misunderstanding.
Lach - Once again, a misunderstanding, but I guess the fight was long overdue. People have feelings man, can't just say what you want!
My assignment group members - I've been so busy with the elections, I'm sorry guys...
The dude who started "the blog" - Still have no idea who you are
The dude who hijacked my Facebook - No idea as well
That's all I was able to come up with... Beyond that I wouldn't know, do tell me...
Maybe I'm just too direct sometimes or maybe it's my excessive cursing... I dunno...
Oh well, I guess we can't always make everyone happy. That's why I like gamers, or rather, Magic players, they tend to have a good sense of humour. I don't have to say "I was just kidding man" every time I tell a sensitive joke, they just get it.
Well, if there's anyone reading this who hates me, lemme know if you wanna chat, I'm sure we can talk it out, I think I'm too old for stupid fights...
Take care and have a nice day!

Identity Theft
Yesterday some dude got into my Facebook account and changed the email address, so I can't log into my Facebook anymore. He even made a new email address that's similar to mine but with the number "123" at the back just for that purpose. Also, for some weird reason, he changed my name to "Made Mal"... like what the fuck is Made Mal? I figured Mal is probably cos of my name, but, again, what the fuck is Made Mal?
I logged into Kel's account to check out what he's done, and I find him playing Poker with MY chips, so I joined the room. He was basically throwing my 6.5 Million by doing shit like going all in with 2 Million pre-flop with off-suit 2 and 3... Still, I didn't care, I started chatting with him
This post is bloody long cos of the chat logs so bear with me.
Here's the conversation (I am Kel because it's not my account)
[Kel]: made mal
[Kel]: who are you?
[Kel]: why did you steal my account?
[Kel]: if it's for my hold 'em chips, you can just take them all, just give me back my account
[Kel]: you can throw away all the chips like you just did, i don't care, just give me back my account
[Kel]: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGH
[Made Mal]: ok man ]
[Made Mal]: but u have to pay
[Kel]: how much?
[Made Mal]: ill send u message
[Kel]: who are you?
[Kel]: what did i ever did to you?
[Made Mal]: u did somthing... i will remind u
[Made Mal]: but later
[Kel]: what did i do?
[Kel]: is it because of the elections?
[Made Mal]: i said i will tell u later
[Kel]: who are you?
[Made Mal]: far friend
[Made Mal]: ;)
[Kel]: do i really deserve this?
[Kel]: what do you get from taking my facebook account and playing poker...
[Kel]: what does made mean anyway?
[Kel]: give me a call when you want to talk
[Kel]: i'm sure you have my number
[Made Mal]: yes u are right
[Kel]: oh well, just call me
[Made Mal]: no i wont call
[Made Mal]: how much u buy ur account ?
[Kel]: what do u mean?
[Made Mal]: how much you pay ?
[Kel]: how do i see you?
*at this point he left the table and entered another,I followed him*
[Kel]: made, so you are just trying to finish my chips?
[Kel]: how are you going to contact me?
[Made Mal]: yes wy ?
[Made Mal]: u care about ur chips or ur account?
[Kel]: it doesnt matter, just wondering why
[Kel]: because you must really hate me to go through all this trouble
[Made Mal]: do u really want me to give u back ur account ?
[Kel]: yea
[Made Mal]: ok look
[Made Mal]: do u pay 1000$??
[Kel]: i just dont know if you are going to
[Kel]: where do i meet you
[Made Mal]: add me on msn
[Made Mal]: v.i.pee@hotmail.com
[Kel]: r u online?
[Kel]: where r u?
*at this point he left the room and I added him on msn*

Times like these...
And so I lost. I suck.
Am I bitter? I guess I should be, but now that it's over, I find myself surprisingly calm and at peace.
I didn't tell anyone, but that day when Crossing Boundaries performed "Times Like These" acoustic, I thought to myself, "damn I miss music".
It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again
It's not like I haven't been listening to any music since the elections, it's just that it was a much much much much much bigger part of me before. I dreamed of being a performer, wanted to be a DJ, I found pleasure in writing my own songs, I breathed music and spoke lyrics...
This whole thing has made me uptight, and I didn't even know what I was doing it for, all I knew was that I wanted to win.
Kel said that I lost my focus, and she was right.
I wanted so much to lead to make everything better, I wanted next year to be the best year for Monash with every event being top notch for the first time. I wanted to make Monash cool... hahahahahahaha
Upon finding out that I lost, I was pretty upset at first, but I slowly started to feel a sense of freedom. "I don't have to do anything for anyone anymore!" I started looking at the bright side and all the things I can do instead. I can play more Magic, listen to more music, play more pool, and the best part of it all, I get to spend more time with Kel!
At this point, I am alright with losing, at this point, I am calm, I don't mind anymore, I am a good loser. Everything is good, and I'm feeling good.
But if I ever find out who's responsible for the blog, that motherfucker is dead.
Take care and have a nice day! :-)

Icky For President?
And so the elections are finally here... and some people have chosen to ruin it for me...
I've wanted to run for MUSA since I first knew about it in 2006, it was all so exciting for me, campaigning and all, just like the movies! I love the thought of being able to oganize things in a bigger scale for the university, I guess it's just my kind of thing.
I didn't know much people back then, neither did I know how to even run in the elections.
Fast forward 2 years later, and here I am, finally running for President, and this happens.
To be honest, the blog hasn't affected me as much as it should have, perhaps because part of me just don't really care. It's probably the ego. But I guess, it kinda bugs me not knowing who started it or what is it that filled them with so much hatred. I know, I know, I get it, something always happens when elections come close, but now I am getting a bad name for things that I didn't do or not involved in.
Oh well, whatever, I'm still gonna win. I'm just gonna.
At least I won US$500 in Manila! 31st place :-) Definitely makes up for my super crap performance in Nationals... *sigh*
Take care and have a nice day.

Conveniently Inconvenient
So I had to finally do my passport as I will be flying off to Manila in 2 weeks time, not to mention I need it to apply for visa to go to Beijing at the end of the year.
Feeling determined to do it today since I was feeling kinda sick yesterday, I set my alarm clock at 6.30 so that I could go there early and get it done fast. Naturally, after sleeping back and getting up again for like a million times, I finally got up and was on my way to go to the old Subang Airport by 7.30am.
I arrived at the place at 7.45 and noticed that the parking is charged by the hour at RM1.50 per hour. I thought nothing of it at the time as I was notified by some friends that they now have a machine that you can just dump your stuff in and pick it up in 1 or 2 hours. It's supposed to be reliable and convenient.
So I parked and walked in, looking for the machine. I asked the guard there and he said thet the machine broke down yesterday, so everyone has to do it manually. He said I need to go get the form, fill it up and get a number. I was thinking like, oh well, I guess that's just like an extra hour or so. Then the guard showed me where to get the form.
There was a huge line at the counter to get the form, wanna know why?
BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME ONE THAT YOU HAVE TO LINE UP TO GET THE WAITING NUMBER FROM!!!
So basically, people have to line up there to get their form, fill up the form and line up at the line again to get a number!!!
Having no choice, I lined up. It took about a good 30 minutes till I finally got my form. I filled it up and lined up again. I finally got my number, 1120, at 8.53am, almost 40 minutes later.
Knowing that it would take a while, I decided to go get a drink at the cafeteria nearby. Needless to say, it wasn't a very good teh tarik as they use the cheap tea, the one that leaves your throat feeling like crap afterwards. I went back to check the number after my drink, it wasn't even close to mine yet, so after a while, I went back to the cafeteria to have toast and milo. It wasn't too bad this time, although, it is kinda hard to mess up toast and milo, so I guess that's why.
I went back after that and sat inside the stuffy waiting area. I waited and waited and finally, my number was called at 11.15am! So I went, and this time, it's just to pass the forms in and give my fingerprints. I was given the same number again and was told to wait, this time to PAY!
Waited and waited and waited and finally, lucky me, at 12.22 I was finally called to pay for my passport. After paying, you know when you'll get the passport? 2 hours later... bah...
Sick of waiting for so long, I decided to go home and come back later to pick it up since it's near my place.
I guess I should have expected it, but I can't help but get pissed off. Is it really necessary to line up and wait 4 times to get a passport processed? It feels like such a con because people have no choice but to park there, and they have no choice but to wait, and if they're hungry they have no choice but to eat at the cafeteria there, it's like, the least they could do is charge a flat rate for the parking, I mean, people don't really go there to have fun or have a picnic, they're there that long because the system requires them to be there that long. So great the con of man...
Burned a good 5 hours of my life for nothing and had to pay RM7.50 for parking... bah...
On a different note though, notice how there's always a whole bunch of kids at these kinda places? Like to make and IC or to make a Passport, there's always a bunch of kids, and I always wonder why their parents bring them. I know some of them have to be there cos it's their passport, but I see some kids just being there to hold a handbag, poor kids, haha.
Also, notice how there's never anyone attractive when it comes to these kind of things? You look around and look around, but nope, not a single one.
I think it's a conspiracy... no wait, I'm convinced that it's a conspiracy! Beautiful people don't need passports, don't require licence, don't need identification cards and they aren't allowed to line up for anything!!!
Damn, I wish I was beautiful too... :-p
Take care and have a nice day!
